Testimonials & Reviews
What a great trip. Four varied days walking, paddling, climbing and exploring with fine food and good company each night at the Lodge. Excellent organisation from Lou and Cody. Highly recommended.
This was our feeling at the end of our 4 day Pedder Experience tour, in Meadowbank: Lou & Cody created a wonderful experience for us, just like a first class menu of Haute Cuisine! So: All the three Michelin stars *** for Wild Pedder. And we are still very much impressed with Cody & Lou’s dedication, enthusiasm, thoughtful preparation and knowledgeable guidance and explanations.
Under Lou and Cody’s expert guidance, our family group of 7 has just finished the most spectacular 4 Day experience on the Tassie east coast. From our youngest member (aged 9) to the oldest (69), we all felt it was a unique, once in a lifetime chance to see some of the most beautiful wilderness in the world. It was sad to say goodbye since, by the end, Lou and Cody felt like part of our family. I thoroughly recommend Wild Pedder!
We just completed the Wild Pedder with our group of 8. We have trekked all over the world but this unique place stands out. Lou and Cody called up perfect weather and nothing was a problem for them. Would recommend Wild Pedder unreservedly.
We had a group of 8, and really enjoyed the Pedder experience with Cody & Lou . It exceeded our expectations, the three days of walks were all very different, we all loved the day of kayaking, the equipment provided was excellent. Accommodation was first class, we even had own room for dinner & breakfast every day.
I want to thank you again for the great trip we had with Wild Pedder. It really is the best walk I have ever tried in Tasmania or elsewhere for that matter. We certainly had some magic moments and have some great photos to prove it. I am not surprised you both want to spend your working life in such an amazing place.
I’ve been telling everyone who will listen just how fantastic my Wild Pedder trip was! As far as I am concerned there is nothing to fault about the experience. There is a great balance between serious walking/outdoor adventure and comfortable accommodation/fab. food plus expert guiding and excellent transport service.I would be very happy to sign up for another trip with Wild Pedder!
Katie and I both had such a wonderful time away. Your attention to detail was excellent and Cody your storytelling of the characters that lived and breathed the Southwest was not only entertaining but very informative. So not only did I walk, paddle and eat (a lot), I also learnt a lot about the Southwest which was fantastic. And that brings me to the point about the food ... I just loved it!... Lou your Mum’s cookies are delicious!Conor is a great addition to your team with his enthusiasm for life and the outdoors being very infectious. The brief chat with Lou before the trip made the experience far more personal than what you normally experience from larger operations. It was nice to be able to chat about the trip with someone that has actually done it (more than once). My favourite day was the kayaking... seeing the mountains from a different perspective only heightened my appreciation for them and the vast wilderness of the Southwest. Thanks so much.
Just wanted to say a huge “thank you” for providing such a fantastic hike this last week. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Your professionalism, knowledge, friendship, support and ongoing desire to give everyone a unique experience certainly didn’t go unnoticed and was greatly appreciated. I take with me so many fond memories but importantly a stronger sense of inner strength and peace. I wish you both well personally and professionally and hope your dreams for “Wild Pedder’ continue to grow.
What an awesome adventure. Right from the pre-organisation and communication for the trip, great accommodation, the beautiful food, Lou and Cody’s extensive knowledge of the Southwest area, their friendliness and professionalism has made this trip one I will remember and hold as very special. Definitely, a place and adventure to come back too.
We were delighted to be part of Wild Pedder “Team 2” in December 2016, a 4-day adventure led very capably and professionally by Cody and Lou, our amazing Wild Pedder guides. We were promised an experience comprising breath-taking scenery, challenging walks, kayaking on the incredible Lake Pedder as well as great food and accommodation, all set in the world heritage wilderness area of South West Tasmania. Wow...we got all of this and more! It was an experience we will never forget. The trip was challenging, yet the pace set by Cody and Lou always took into account our team’s capability, and incorporated the opportunity to stop and take in the spectacular surroundings of the wilderness area… something that has to be seen to be believed.Experiencing the unfolding view of Lake Pedder and Solitary Island as you ascend Mt Eliza was simply mind-blowing. The sense of achievement after summiting the mountain was exhilarating. We were fortunate to experience conditions that included snow showers, blizzards, mountain mist, as well as brilliant sunshine, all of which showcased the beauty of the wilderness area in all its glory. Lou and Cody, you didn’t tell us the trip included 4 seasons in 4 days!!After each adventure we looked forward to a fantastic hot shower, delicious meals, a roaring open fire, but above all great company and stories over a “pinot osteo”!! to end another wonderful day.Cody and Lou... we delighted in your passion and knowledge for the area with all its spectacular flora and fauna and loved all your many interesting and humorous stories along the way. We always felt our safety and wellbeing were paramount, and any individual needs or challenges we had were always met with the professional and incredible caring nature of you both. We absolutely loved every minute of the trip and can’t thank you enough for guiding us through an experience we will never forget.Loved it Wild Pedder!
